The top features the owner's star sign. The stars are made from crushed sea shell from her favorite beach.
The mirror is inlaid with a complex sun pattern, pulled straight from my sketchbook.
The birdseye maple used on the comb handles is reminiscent of moon craters. Each comb is hand-shaped, making them very tactile, and a pleasure to hold in hand.
A secret compartment reveals itself, with something hidden inside...
Inside, a hand-scrimshawed necklace, made from elk bone found on the woodshop property.
